There is a special sense of belonging in our Middle Syndicate. Children are encouraged to work independently and a strong focus on values ensures that our children and considerate and kind.

The Middle Syndicate consists of three classes.

Room 1 (Y3/4) Mrs Sue Miller (Syndicate Leader)

Room 2 (Y3/4) Mrs Imogen Tapp

Room 3 (Y3/4)/Ms Liana Brown

Teacher Assistants:

Mrs Andrea Bungard, Mrs Karen Gray, Mrs Sheree MacGillivray

Each term we select opportunities outside the classroom that complement our current learning focus. This may include visits to the Otago Museum, Orokonui Ecosanctuary, Art Gallery, Birchleigh Resthome, swimming pool, library and other local areas of interest as the need arises. A feature of the Middle Syndicate is the annual sleepover, which currently alternates between the Otago Museum and a sleepover held at school. Children in Year 4 enjoy taking part in the Taieri Schools Sports Association (TSSA) events held each term (orienteering, cross country, duathlon, athletics, swimming) which may lead to representation at Otago events.

We create opportunities for children to work with those in other classes across the syndicate. These include:

Discovery Time
PE
Fitness
Fortnightly syndicate assembly
Sharing of learning with parents and whanau
Rotation around teachers

We welcome parent involvement in class programmes. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved in many different ways including school terms and supporting learning in the classroom.  Click on the photos below to see some of the fun events at our school.
